Wheeler Indian Trade Musket. Nice condition for a trade musket. Wood is very good with the cartouches still present. Comb was re-shaped during the period of use, and there is old repair around lock toward muzzle. The metal is in nice shape also. No major pitting is on the barrel. Around the pan area, there is light pitting on the barrel and on the lock. After referencing Great Gun Makers of the Early West by Jim Gordon, this gun conforms to all of the features that Mr. Gordon details in his book. The marking are all readable and the serpentine side plate is exactly like the ones in the book. Barrel is just over 36 1/2". Very nice original flintlock trade gun!
