Serial No. 710, originally manufactured circa 1896 and converted in 1946 to .22 caliber, featuring a 19" round barrel. This carbine was converted to a single-shot .22 training rifle by Portugal after the purchase of approximately 4,000 rifles from Romania, intended for cavalry training use following World War II. Serial numbers are matching, and the rifle remains in overall very good condition, retaining the majority of its arsenal refinish. Metal and stock present well, showing only light handling wear consistent with its training role. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A scarce and historically interesting post-war trainer conversion of the Mannlicher M1896.
