Polish wz.98 Bolt Action Rifle – Spanish Civil War 8mm Mauser (L2026-12493)

Serial no. 7154E. Manufactured circa 1928 in Poland, chambered in 8mm Mauser, 24" round barrel. Bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are non-matching, while the stock is matching. Rifle has been refinished at some point in its service life, with no import markings noted. Of particular historical interest, this rifle is representative of the approximately 24,000 Polish wz.98-pattern rifles reportedly supplied to the Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War, giving this example an interesting connection to one of the major European conflicts of the interwar period. A desirable Polish military Mauser displaying the long and varied service history typical of arms that passed through Republican Spain. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
