Excellent Scarce Colt 1896 Contract Revolver. .38 Caliber made in 1901. Beautiful gun with 85%+ of the original blue. Both hammer and trigger have fire blue. The main concentration of blue loss is on the back strap and on the edges of the frame. Grips are excellent with nice sharp cartouches dated 1901. Bore is excellent. Gun comes with a factory letter confirming all features and this gun was shipped to the Commanding Officer of the New York Arsenal on February 4, 1901 in a shipment of 400.
