U.S. Model 1840 Cavalry Saber. Blade is not engraved, but is marked “TDL” in a circle on one side. Shrapnel damage to scabbard. Blade is 36” long and overall length is 41½”. Blade has some notches and has a gray patina. Good overall condition.
