This 22 Long Rifle caliber Springfield M2 rifle is fitted with a Model 1903A3 C style stock and forend. The 24" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The barrel is marked SA over flaming bomb over 5-37 at the muzzle. The gun has approx. 98% of its bright refinish blue. The top of the receiver is marked U.S. on the left and 5706, the serial number, on the right. The remaining marks are covered by the rear scope block. The front scope block is mounted approx. 7.2" forward of the rear. The bolt is marked NS over M2 on the handle root and D-282233-2 on the body. The correct M2 magazine is present. The rifle is equipped with the standard Lyman 48 receiver peep sight and a blade front sight. The circle P proofed C style stock and M1903A3 handguard are excellent. There is a brass disc with 58 on it on the upper left buttstock. This is most likely a rack or inventory number. The stacking and sling swivels are present. The action functions correctly. Rifles of this style were popular with target shooters before WWII as they were about identical to the Model 1903 Springfield. This would be a great fit in a military training rifle or target rifle collection.
