Italian Model 1870/87/16 Vetterli Carcano Infantry 6.5 Carcano caliber rifle. Originally produced as a model 1870 single shot in 1884 in 10.35 x 47R caliber. It was converted to the Vitali magazine system around 1890. In 1916-1917 it was converted to the Carcano caliber and magazine system. The bore has strong rifling and is dark in the grooves. The wood is good with some age cracking near the butt plate. Good overall condition. Not for Firing!
