U.S. Model 1861 Rifle Musket. Manufactured at Springfield Armory and dated 1862 on both lock and barrel. Bore is excellent (so this soldier took care of this rife). Markings are crisp and clear. Stock cartouches are both visible even though it is obvious this rifle saw service in action. This is a good to very good example of an 1861 lssued Early War in 1862.
