German Model 1871 Infantry 11mm caliber rifle. Butt plate is unit marked B.17.R.5.236. to a Bavarian infantry regiment. Receiver is dated 1879. Serial Numbers are matching. Upper barrel band is unnumbered. Bore is excellent. Wood is very good with nice cartouches. Very good overall condition. A nice Bavarian unit marked 71 Infantry rifle. It is hard to find a model 71. We see many more 71 84’s than model 71s.
