Yugoslavian Model 98/48 Bolt Action Rifle 7.92x57mm Mauser (L2026-02381)

Serial no. J14072. Originally manufactured in Germany during WWII and subsequently refurbished after the war at Preduzeće 44 (“Institute 44”) in Kragujevac, Yugoslavia, chambered in 7.92x57mm Mauser, 24" round barrel. Bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted. The rifle remains in overall very good arsenal-refurbished condition, with the refinished metal showing areas of thinning consistent with handling and service use.. The Yugoslavian 98/48 program refurbished captured German Kar98k rifles for continued post-war military service, making these rifles an interesting combination of WWII German manufacture and later Yugoslavian arsenal history. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
