Serial no. 159059. Manufactured circa 1940s by Webley & Scott, chambered in .38 S&W,5" octagonal barrel. The bore is good with frosting noted in the grooves while the rifling remains strong and well-defined. The finish is fair, having turned to a grey patina with scattered oxidation noted, consistent with wartime production and use. The left side of the frame is marked “WAR FINISH,” indicating simplified finishing processes adopted during WWII to expedite production. The left grip shows a crack but remains intact. The Webley Mark IV revolvers were widely issued to British and Commonwealth forces, with “war finish” examples reflecting the utilitarian nature of late-war manufacture. The action indexes correctly with a tight lock-up and remains mechanically sound.
