Serial no. 1782641. Manufactured circa July 1943 by Springfield Armory, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,24" round barrel marked “3 SA 2 45 P.” The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The bolt is marked “D28287-19SA/A-5 (diamond)” and the receiver is marked “btc diamond-p./D 28291 29.” The operating rod remains uncut and is marked “D35382-1-SA.” The left side of the receiver is import marked. The rifle retains a Type 3 lock bar rear sight. The trigger assembly is primarily “SA” marked with a WRA-marked hammer. The stock is very good with a faint circled “P” proof visible, showing light service wear. The M1 Garand was the standard U.S. service rifle of WWII and is widely regarded for its reliability and battlefield effectiveness. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
