Serial No. 1936029, made September 1943, .30-06, 24” round barrel marked 3-S-A-8-43, indicating August 1943 Springfield production. This rifle is a classic mid-war M1 Garand, featuring a bolt marked D28287-12SA / S-04 (diamond) and an uncut op-rod marked 135382 6 SA, consistent with wartime components. The receiver is marked B11A (diamond)-vv / D28291 30, and the trigger housing and internals are correctly marked “SA”, confirming the rifle retains Springfield Armory parts throughout. Metal finish and stock are in very good overall condition, with strong original parkerizing and a clean, solid walnut stock. A handsome “SA/EMcF” cartouche (for Col. Earl McFarland) is visible on the left side, next to the Ordnance Department escutcheon, making this a desirable example for collectors seeking original wartime inspection markings. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Consignment.
