Serial No. 4776954, manufactured in 1944, chambered in .30-06, featuring a 24” round barrel marked “S.A. / Flaming Bomb / 8-44.” This rifle remains in good overall condition, retaining approximately 95% of its wartime parkerized finish. The stock shows light handling wear, with faint original cartouches visible and a clearly struck “O.G.” inspection stamp—indicating post-war inspection at the Ogden Arsenal. The action is smooth and fully functional. While this rifle now wears a Springfield barrel, the receiver remains true to Smith-Corona’s WWII production. A representative example of a late-war U.S. service rifle, likely arsenal re-barreled in preparation for post-war service or refurbishment.
