WWII Toyo Kogyo 33rd Series Type 99 Bolt Action Rifle 7.7x58mm (L2026-10798)

Serial no. 60506. Manufactured circa early 1944 by Toyo Kogyo, 33rd Series, chambered in 7.7x58mm Japanese, 26" round barrel. Bore is very good with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are matching throughout, while the bayonet lug is unnumbered. The receiver retains its intact Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”). By this stage of production, the earlier anti-aircraft rear sight wings and monopod had been eliminated at the factory. The stock remains in very good condition with only minimal handling impressions noted. This 33rd Series rifle represents an interesting transitional stage in Type 99 production, retaining solid wartime workmanship while displaying the gradual elimination of earlier accessories as production demands increased. With its matching numbers, intact mum, strong bore, and excellent overall condition, this is a particularly attractive example of a mid-war Toyo Kogyo Type 99. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
