Serial no. TA7227. Manufactured in 1943 at Izhevsk Arsenal, chambered in 7.62x54R,29" round barrel. The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are matching, including the scope mount, which has been force-matched via electric pencil, a common feature of post-war Soviet refurbishment. The rifle is equipped with a PU sniper scope marked “No.14162/1940,” with clear optics. The stock shows light handling and storage impressions consistent with arsenal refurbishment and long-term storage. The serial number prefix is correct for 1943 Izhevsk production. The PU sniper configuration represents the standard Soviet sniper system of WWII, widely used on the Eastern Front for its durability, simplicity, and effectiveness. Rifles such as this were often refurbished after the war and kept in reserve. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
