Serial no. M3822817 (importer). Manufactured in 1943 at Izhevsk Arsenal, chambered in 7.62x54R, 20.5" round barrel. Bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Original serial numbers are matching, with the magazine floor plate force matched. The carbine remains in overall very good condition with only minimal handling and storage wear noted. Produced during the height of WWII, the compact M38 was designed to provide Soviet troops with a shorter and handier alternative to the full-length M91/30 rifle. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
