Serial No. 4813732, manufactured May 1944, .30 Carbine, 18” round barrel faintly marked: “UNDERWOOD / 5-44 / Flaming Bomb” This carbine began life as a wartime production rifle by Quality Hardware, but features several post-war arsenal upgrades. The barrel band has been upgraded to include a bayonet lug, marked with a diamond inside a small shield. The Type II milled adjustable rear sight is unmarked, and a flip safety has replaced the original push-button. The low wood stock has been refurbished and coated with varnish. Carbine comes with a sling and oiler, and the action is smooth and functions correctly. A solid example of a late WWII production carbine updated for extended post-war use.
