Serial no. 72514. Manufactured circa late 1944–early 1945 at Nagoya Arsenal, chambered in 7.7x58mm Japanese, 25.5" round barrel. Bore is very good with light frosting noted in the grooves, while the rifling remains strong and well defined. The bolt is matching to the receiver, while the safety knob and firing pin are both numbered “702.” The characteristic three-piece wooden stock remains in very good condition with only light handling impressions noted. Most importantly, the Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) remains fully intact on the receiver, and the rifle is accompanied by its original sling. The combination of an intact mum, matching bolt, original sling, and strong overall condition makes this a particularly attractive late-war Japanese military rifle. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
