Serial No. 42476, manufactured mid-1944 by Nagoya Arsenal, 7.7x58mm, 25½” round barrel. Serial numbers are matching. Equipped with a short ladder rear sight, grooved safety, and the cylindrical bolt style typical of Series 7 rifles. The imperial chrysanthemum (mum) has been ground off, as commonly seen on surrendered examples. Stock is in very good condition, with only light handling marks noted. Rifle is fitted with a thinned metal butt plate, characteristic of mid-war production. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Includes a Type 30 hooked quillon bayonet with scabbard, manufactured by an unknown maker under Kokura Arsenal supervision. A well-preserved example of a mid-war Type 99, complete with correct period bayonet.
