Serial No. 45437, manufactured circa late 1943 by Nagoya Arsenal, 7.7x58mm, 25½” round barrel. An early Series 6 rifle in very good condition. Bolt is non-matching, but only 66 numbers off from the original and retains a matching finish. The imperial chrysanthemum (mum) has been ground off, as typical of surrendered rifles. Stock is in very good condition, showing minimal handling marks. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A clean example of a mid-war production Type 99, exhibiting high build quality before late-war production shortcuts became prevalent.
