Serial No. 33970, produced circa 1912–1942 (approx. 91,000 manufactured), 6.5x50mm, 19.2” round barrel fitted with the integral under-folding bayonet distinctive to the Type 44 cavalry carbine. Serial numbers are non-matching, and the front sight exhibits minor battle damage, adding character consistent with field service. Receiver retains a partial mum and kanji, a condition often seen not only from end-of-war defacement but also from deliberate grinding by Japanese soldiers during combat. Stock shows light handling impressions, while the bore remains good with strong rifling visible. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A solid example of a Nagoya-made Type 44 cavalry carbine, a model increasingly scarce in any honest, service-used condition.
