Serial No. 6888, made December 1943, 8x22mm, 4 ½” round barrel. Produced by the Nagoya Arsenal, Toriimatsu Factory, this is a 2nd Series Type 14 featuring the later large trigger guard, a design change implemented for use with gloved hands during cold-weather operations. Serial numbers are matching throughout, grips, and magazine, which is uncommon among surviving examples. The pistol retains approximately 90% of its original blue finish, with light surface oxidation present in select areas. Grips are well-fitted and sharp. Action is smooth and functions correctly. An excellent example of a late-war Japanese military sidearm, this pistol reflects the transitional production period of 1943 as material conditions tightened. A desirable and complete specimen for collectors of WWII Japanese handguns.
