WWII Japanese Kokura Arsenal Type 44 Cavalry Carbine 6.5x50mm (L2026-10761)

Serial no. 4405. Manufactured circa 1933 at Kokura Arsenal, chambered in 6.5x50mm Japanese, 19" round barrel. Bore is good with light frosting noted in the grooves, while the rifling remains well defined. Serial numbers are non-matching. The Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) has been ground from the receiver, although a portion remains visible. The stock has been lightly refurbished and remains in good overall condition with expected handling and service impressions. Designed specifically for mounted troops, the Type 44 is distinguished by its compact configuration and integral folding spike bayonet assembly, making it one of the most recognizable and desirable Japanese cavalry carbines. Action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
