WWII Japanese Kokura Arsenal 25th Series Last Ditch Type 99 Rifle 7.7x58mm (L2026-11680)

Serial no. 83691. Manufactured circa late 1944–1945 at Kokura Arsenal, chambered in 7.7x58mm Japanese, 26" round barrel. Bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. Serial numbers are matching, and the Imperial chrysanthemum (“mum”) has been removed from the receiver. The late-war three-piece stock shows expected service wear with a crack noted at the mid-forearm on the left side. A desirable late-war “Last Ditch” Type 99 displaying the simplified construction and manufacturing methods characteristic of Japan’s final period of wartime rifle production. Action is smooth and functions correctly.
