Serial No. 739443, manufactured circa 1943, .30 Carbine, 18” round barrel marked:
“INLAND DIV / GENERAL MOTORS / 6-43” This WWII Inland M1 Carbine has undergone post-war arsenal upgrades, most notably the addition of a bayonet lug barrel band marked “JI”, a Type II adjustable rear sight (unmarked), and a flip safety. These alterations reflect common post-WWII updates. The low wood “pot belly” stock is in very good condition, bearing a clearly visible Ordnance escutcheon on the right side. The sling well is marked “HI,” identifying the stock manufacturer. Metal components retain the majority of their finish with only light wear noted. Carbine comes with a magazine pouch, sling, and oiler. The action is smooth and functions correctly, making it a dependable example of a WWII carbine with Cold War service features.
