Serial no. 107197. Manufactured in 1942 by Inland Division of General Motors, chambered in .30 Carbine,18" round barrel marked “INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/12-42.” The front sight is unmarked, while the post-war Type IV bayonet lug barrel band is marked “J.M.D.” The Type II milled adjustable rear sight is marked “PI.” The high wood stock remains in very good condition and bears a re-arsenal cartouche marked “RRA-C” on the left side, with the sling well marked “IO.” The carbine retains its original push-button safety, indicating the primary post-war update was the addition of the bayonet lug barrel band. Early Inland carbines such as this are highly collectible due to their wartime production features and association with the opening years of WWII. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
