WWII German G33/40 Mountain Rifle 8mm (L2026-03010)

Serial no. 5119b. Manufactured in 1940, chambered in 8mm,19 ½" round barrel. The bore is good with light frosting visible in the grooves while the rifling remains strong and well-defined. The bolt is serial-number matching. The barrel and receiver are thinning to a smooth grey patina consistent with service use. The receiver is correctly marked “945/1940” on the top with “G.33/40” on the left side. The G33/40 was a lightweight mountain troop rifle produced for German Gebirgsjäger units, featuring a shortened length and reduced weight for use in alpine operations, making original examples increasingly sought after by collectors. The stock is very good showing expected surface impressions. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
