Serial No. 8047c, manufactured in 1940, 8mm, 24” round barrel. Rifle remains in very good overall condition, with matching serial numbers throughout except for the front barrel band. Metal has thinned to a smooth light grey patina, showing even wear consistent with age and service use. Factory markings remain clear and well-defined. The hardwood stock displays light handling impressions typical of field use but retains good color and fit. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A scarce example of a “27” coded K98 rifle produced by ERMA (Erfurter Maschinenfabrik) in 1940—manufactured just before the company shifted its production focus to the MP40 submachine gun, making these rifles increasingly difficult to find in original condition.
