Serial No. 72173, manufactured circa 1944, 7.65mm, 3” round barrel. This French Unique Model 17 is a wartime "Kriegsmodell" variant, produced under German occupation during WWII for use by the Wehrmacht. Pistols of this type were manufactured in occupied France by Manufacture d'Armes des Pyrénées Françaises and were widely issued to secondary German military and police units. This example remains in very good overall condition, retaining approximately 90% of its original blued finish, with minor high-edge wear visible from holster use. The rear of the frame is waffenamt marked “WaA D20”, denoting German military acceptance, and the barrel bears an eagle/swastika proof. The grips are excellent, with no cracks or warping noted. Mechanically, the action is smooth and functions correctly. This pistol comes complete with a black leather holster.
