WWI Gewehr 98 Bolt Action Rifle – 8mm (L2025-11985)

Serial No. 4425b, manufactured in 1918 by Waffenfabrik Mauser A-G, Oberndorf A/N, 8mm, 29½” round barrel. Rifle remains in very good overall condition, showing light service wear consistent with late-war use. Metal surfaces have thinned to an even light grey patina, with all factory markings clear and legible. Serial numbers are non-matching, as commonly seen on rifles reassembled during or after the war. The hardwood stock displays light handling impressions and has been treated with a light coat of linseed oil, enhancing its grain while preserving an authentic appearance. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A solid and representative example of a late-production Gewehr 98, the standard German infantry rifle of the First World War.
