Serial No. L98338, manufactured circa 1918, 8mm Lebel, 32½” round barrel. Serial numbers are matching except for the stock. Blue finish has thinned to a dark grey/brown patina. Stock has been lightly sanded at one point, with two areas of arsenal repair noted. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A representative example of the Model 1907/15 Berthier rifle, the principal French service arm of the later First World War.
