WWI French Mle M-16 Bolt Action Rifle 8mm Lebel (L2025-11686)

Serial No. D78299, manufactured in 1917, chambered in 8mm Lebel with a 31 ½” round barrel. Bolt is non-matching with a faint serial number. Barrel and receiver retain the majority of their original factory blue finish. The left side of the receiver is clearly marked "St. ETIENNE Mle M.16". Stock shows light handling impressions consistent with service use. Action is smooth and functions correctly. Adopted during World War I, the Modèle 1916 was an evolution of the Lebel rifle, designed to improve handling and simplify production during wartime. This example remains in very good condition for a rifle over a century old.
