Winchester Model 1917 Bolt Action Rifle .30-06 (L2026-06744)

Serial no. 205536. Manufactured March 1918 by Winchester Repeating Arms Company, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,26" round barrel marked “W/Flaming Bomb/3-18.” The bore is bright with strong, well-defined rifling noted. The bolt and stock are both marked “W,” indicating Winchester manufacture. The left side of the stock bears a re-arsenal cartouche and shows only minimal handling impressions. The U.S. Model 1917 served as the primary American service rifle during WWI, with more U.S. troops carrying the M1917 in combat than the Springfield 1903. Winchester-produced examples are especially sought after among collectors. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
