Winchester 1876 .45-75 caliber rifle. Made in 1878. This is a 2nd model which is distinguished by the screw on the rail the dust cover rides on. This gun also has a “thumb print” dust cover. The barrel is very fine with most of the original blue remaining, approximately 90%. The frame is a dark brownish gray. Wood is very fine. The butt stock is slightly undersized, but not been refinished in any way. This gun is in 45-75. There is no caliber marking because when this gun was made, there is no caliber marking because when this gun was made, there were no other calibers for a Winchester 1876.
