Colt Single Action Army Serial No. 195264, made in 1900, 41 Colt, 5 ½” round barrel. Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling visible. Majority of the finish has turned to a grey patina with traces of original blue visible in protected areas, mostly noticeable on the right side of the barrel. Serial numbers are matching and factory markings remain sharp and legible. Ivory grips are in very good condition with no cracks visible, left grip has yellowed more than the right. Back strap is marked with “Uncle Kit Carson”. Action indexes and functions correctly with a tight lock up. Comes with brown floral pattern leather holster that is in very good condition. Winchester Model 1873 Serial No.250538b, made in 1887, .32W.C.F., 24 ½” round barrel. Bore is dark with oxidation visible in the grooves, rifling is present and defined. Finish has turned to a smooth brown patina. Barrel is stamped “32W.C.F.” just forward of the receiver. Stock and forearm show expected nicks dings and cracks from handling and usage wear. Wood loss is noted just under the butt plate. Action is smooth and functions correctly. The buffalo hide travel chest includes many items including a set of his Buck skins, belt, powder horn and numerous documents and photos relating to “Uncle Kit Carson” This set was in the Museum of Lost Arts in New Castle PA. and was apparently deaccessioned in 1984.
