Nagasa 44.2 cm (17.4”). Signed by attribution on the shirasaya: 山城国重義作 (Yamashiro no Kuni Shigeyoshi saku), with note of production in the Kan’ei period. Forged in the Yamashiro tradition with slender sugata, shallow koshi-zori, and standard kissaki. The hamon is an undulating notare-midare, visible in the present polish, with ji activity consistent with early Shintō workmanship. The nakago is ubu with one mekugi-ana, finished in ha-agari kurijiri and bearing a fine, even patina.
Mounted with gilt copper habaki, housed in plain shirasaya with sayagaki inscription detailing smith, province, and era.
Condition is very good, with the hamon clear; minor surface scuffs and scratches present under the current polish. No fatal flaws observed.
