US Martial Colt 1851 Navy (65734)

SN: 73882. Made in 1857. 36 caliber with a 7.5” barrel. This gun has the “U.S.” marking on the left hand side of the frame and various small inspectors marks throughout. This is a very sharp gun with an even dark gray patina. All of the edges to the barrel are nice and sharp. Excellent cylinder scene remains, although it appears to have been chemically cleaned. The grips are very fine. No cartouche is observed although the grips are matching as is the rest of the gun. These guns are often referred to as “Army Navies” by collector as Naval issued guns have US Navy markings.
