US Martial Colt 1851 Navy (65727)

SN: 40729. Made in 1855. 36 caliber with a 7.5” barrel. This is a really nice example of an early issued martial Colt 1851 Navy. This gun is martially inspected, but the US under the patent dates was not added. There are various US inspector marks throughout this gun as well as grips with good visible cartouches. This is a very sharp gun with an even gray patina and just traces of original blue in protected areas. The cylinder scene is excellent. These guns are often referred to as “Army Navies” by collector as Naval issued guns have US Navy markings. This is a very fine example of a Martial Colt 1851 Navy!
