An extremely handsome and interesting 1850 Foot Officer’s sword with an older heirloom blue and gold blade in remarkable condition and featuring the motto “Honour And My Country” on one side, and an American Eagle with Union shield on its breast, a ribbon with E Pluribus Unum,” and 15 stars in the field between the ribbon and the eagle. There is also a garland of laurel leaves, a smiling sun, and a trophy of arms with American flags and a Liberty Cap atop a spear in the decoration. The hilt is a standard 1850 US Foot Officer’s hilt, with Phrygian cap pommel, and a leather wrapped grip with triple wire wrapping in its grooves. Dimensions: The sword is 38 inches long overall. The blade is 32 inches long and 1.325 inches wide.
