Serial No. 881309, manufactured in 1918 and later re-issued during WWII, .30-06, 24" round barrel marked “H.S. / Flaming Bomb / 3-44”, with an import mark present. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Rifle was refurbished at some point—typical of 1903 rifles returned to service during WWII—and remains in very good overall condition. Metal finish is uniform, and stock shows expected light handling wear consistent with arsenal reissue. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A clean, appealing example of a WWI-era Springfield returned to duty for the Second World War.
