Serial No. 1203535, manufactured 1920, .30-06, 24” round barrel marked “SA / [Flaming Bomb] / 3-20” This Springfield Model 1903 is a pre-WWI pattern rifle manufactured during the interwar period, and later arsenal refurbished for WWII service, as evidenced by the “DAL” (David A. Lyle) and “SA/SPG” (Springfield Armory / Stanley P. Gibbs) cartouches on the right side of the stock. These dual cartouches indicate a WWII-era overhaul at Springfield Armory. The rifle retains very good overall condition, with sharp markings and a crisp action. The stock shows light wear consistent with service use but remains structurally sound. The action is smooth and functions correctly, making this an excellent example of a transitional-era 1903 service rifle.
