Serial No. 282317, made in 1900, .30-40 Krag, 22” round barrel. Bore is good with frosting and light oxidation visible in the grooves, rifling remains strong. Metal has thinned to a brown/grey patina. Rear sight is marked “C”. Receiver is marked “U.S./ Model 1899.-Springfield Armory 282317”. Stock shows light nicks, dings and scratches. Action is smooth and functions correctly. The 1899 was the first carbine to be manufactured without the saddle ring and bar.
