In stock
Serial No. 330221, manufactured in 1886. Chambered in .45-70 Government with a 32 ½” round barrel. This rifle features a smooth brown-grey patina with areas of light surface oxidation consistent with age. Factory markings on the breech, lock plate, and barrel remain sharp and legible. The stock shows expected handling and field wear, with a well-defined 1891-dated cartouche at the wrist—suggesting a later arsenal inspection or reissue. The rifle is mechanically sound, with a tight action that functions correctly. Fitted with the integrated ramrod bayonet, this Model 1888 represents the final evolution of the Springfield trapdoor series, widely used by U.S. forces in the late 19th century.
