Serial No. 337359, made circa 1886, .45-70, 24” round barrel. Bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling noted. One of only 1000 trail rifles developed for the cavalry during the Indian Wars. Barrel is an even smooth brown patina; traces of case coloring are still visible on the breech in protected areas. Stock is in very good condition with faint 1886 cartouche visible. Action functions correctly.
