In stock
Serial No. 286465, manufactured in 1885, chambered in .45-70 Government with a 32 ½” round barrel. Metal surfaces have turned to an attractive and even brown/grey patina with traces of original blue finish visible in protected areas. Factory markings on the barrel, breech, and lock plate remain sharp and legible. Stock is very good overall, showing light handling impressions consistent with age and use. The action is tight and functions correctly. A solid example of a late 19th-century U.S. military rifle from the Indian Wars and Spanish American War era
