Serial No. 76082, manufactured circa April–June 1877, chambered in .45-70 with a 22” round barrel. Bore is bright with light frosting present. Metal surfaces have developed a brown patina with areas of light oxidation. Features the 1877 pattern updates, including the three-notch tumbler, shortened and thicker wrist, and 1877-style rear sight. The lock plate retains the original “1873” marking, typical of early transitional examples. Stock has been refurbished and varnished, with a faint, illegible cartouche still visible. Action functions correctly. Carbine comes with cleaning rods. A solid example of an early carbine reflecting the transitional features of 1877 updates.
