Serial No. 511026, made in 1891, .45-70, .32 1/5” round barrel. Bore is bright with strong rifling noted. Metal on barrel, breech and lock have turned to a grey/brown patina. Factory markings remain sharp and crisp. Stock bears a faint 1891 cartouche; stock also shows volunteer unit markings that have become hard to make out. Action functions correctly., overall, a good example of a Spanish American War era rifle.
