Serial No. 2Z996, manufactured circa 1920s by Oviedo Arsenal, chambered in 7.62x51mm, 22” round barrel. Rifle is in overall very good condition, with light handling marks on the stock. Metal finish shows light thinning to a grey/brown patina. Bore is excellent, bright with strong rifling. Receiver is marked with the Spanish Civil Guard motif, indicating post-war internal security service use. Includes a 15½” bayonet marked “ARTILLERIA / crossed cannons / F. NACIONAL / TOLEDO” on the ricasso, with serial number 76837 on the reverse. Original black leather scabbard shows wear and some loose stitching. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A well-preserved example of a Spanish Civil Guard conversion, reflecting the transitional use of earlier Mauser-based rifles into the NATO era.
