SN: FR8-44782. Made in 1955 by Fabrica De Armas La Coruna. This firearm started out as a Model 1943 Mauser Short Rifle in 7.92x57mm but was then converted to 7.62x51mm in 1955 by the installation of a 19-inch CETME assault rifle barrel assembly. The "FR" stands for "Fusil Reformado" ("Converted Rifle"). Overall condition is excellent & the bore is bright with strong rifling. The wood has the dings & dents that one would expect from a military service firearm but the finish on the metal parts is very good.
